Spring and Summer Sides Series: Avocado Surprise Salad

As you might have noticed in recipes number two and three of this series (Intriguing Dip and Party Cheese Ball) I tend to pick my recipes based on its title.  The final recipe in my Spring and Summer Sides Series is no exception … what’s not to love about an Avocado Surprise Salad?
Avocado Surprise Salad (contributed by Mrs. Hugh Tillett)
2 avocados
1/2 package cottage cheese
1 3-ounce package cream cheese
1 tsp onion, grated
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Peel avocados, halve lengthwise and hollow out the stem ends slightly.
Sprinkle inside and out with lemon juice and salt.
Combine remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly.
Fill halves with cheese mixture and press halves together.
Wrap and chill in the refrigerator.
Cut into thick crosswise slices and lay on lettuce-garnished salad plate.
Allow one oval to each serving and top with the following mayonnaise dressing.
Mayonnaise Dressing
1 cup sour cream
1/2 tbsp onion
Dash cayenne pepper
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Blend, and serve as topping on avocado salad.  This dressing is good on other salads too.
