Inside the JLC

Willingness To Serve Workshop Recap

Each year the Nominating Committee of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) hosts a Willingness to Serve workshop to teach members about the process of recommending and applying for various leadership positions within the JLC. The workshop had a full house of attendees on January 31, learning about the important deadlines for nominations and available positions.

The Willingness to Serve nominating window opened on January 24 and closed on February 3. The Willingness to Serve application window opened on January 24 and closes on February 14. During the nomination period, members are able to nominate any other member they feel would be a great fit for a specific role. They can even nominate themselves! However, just because you were nominated doesn’t mean you don’t have to apply. All members interested in a role must apply, whether they were nominated or not, otherwise, they will not be considered. The available positions include Committee Chairs and Committee Vice Chairs across each of the five councils, as well as Finance Committee positions and more.

After the Willingness to Serve presentation, attendees enjoyed a lively game of JLC trivia hosted by John Leverette, husband of Nominating Committee member Brittany Leverette. The winning trivia team ended the evening by being awarded JLC-branded picnic blankets.
