1) Thanks for taking time to share some personal insights with us today. Can you give us some background information- tell me about your family and early years?

I grew up in Rochester, NY and originally moved to North Carolina to attend UNC Chapel Hill.  After graduating, I moved to Charlotte and have been here ever since.  It’s been fun to watch the city grow and evolve.

2) What is the best and worst decision you’ve ever made?

Worst decision … wearing too high high heels in situations with lots of walking and/or standing, however I’m only five feet tall and I love my shoe collection!

Best decision … pursuing higher education and career goals

3) What woman inspires you and why?

I have been fortunate to work with a number of women in banking who have demonstrated tremendous capability and professionalism and given both men and women an example to emulate.

4) From start to finish, what would your ideal day be like?

Most of my favorite memories were not planned events like proms, birthdays, etc. but days when something unexpectedly good happened or when enjoying the simple pleasures in life like spending time with friends/family, relaxing at the beach or traveling to a new place.

5) What keeps you up at night?

It ranges from minutiae like “How can I better organize my closet?” to “What will life be like in 20 years?”

6) If you could tell your 23-year-old self-one thing what would it be?

Hold yourself and others to a higher standard.  Surround yourself with friends and loved ones who share the same values.

7) One thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

My brother lives in Sydney, Australia and I’ve visited twice.  After snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, I will never be impressed by an aquarium ever again!

8) How has the Junior League helped you develop your potential, taught you something unique, and/or given you an opportunity that you never would have had otherwise?

I have been truly inspired by the women of the JLC.  Last year in my role on the blog team, I had the opportunity to write articles about the various placements our members participate in and was absolutely amazed by the dedication of the JLC to helping babies, children, refugees and families of incarcerated persons.

I’m looking forward to my placement this year, Promising Pages, and the opportunity to get out in the community and, in a small way, share my love of reading with others.
