Meet Becca Walters a Junior League of Charlotte, Inc (JLC) Active member and Vice Chair of Membership Development. She works for Belk Corporate and has been there for about 9 years. Ms. Walters is the Manager of Assortment Planning/Electronic Data Interchange/Vendor Relations. She went to school this amazing JLC member below.
9 Fun Facts about Becca:
1.) I was born in Bethesda, Maryland at a Naval hospital. My father was in the military so the first 9 years of my life were a lot of moving from military base to military base. When I was 9 my family moved to Concord, NC (suburb of Charlotte) so I consider myself a Charlotte native, since I have now been here for over 20 years!!
2.) I joined the League because my best friend from college joined the year prior, and I did not realize how much it would change my course in life. Up until I joined the JLC 4 years ago, I had limited leadership opportunities at work, but by becoming a Provisional advisor in my first active year, I learned valuable leadership skills that I was able to carry into my work life. I have only continued to hone in on those skills. Long story short, the JLC has provided me with skills I didn’t even know I could learn and has empowered me to lead in my work life.
3. ) I have given the JLC ideas, time, friendship, love and loyalty. The JLC is something I have a lot of pride in being a part of, so I will give most of myself to it always!
4.) If you could choose anything to do for a day I would do all the activities I like to do- go to the movies, go to a football game, go shopping, go get my nails done- BUT I’d bring my dog with me to all of the them. I want to bring her everywhere ☺
5.) My proudest accomplishment is teaching my cat to turn on and off the sink so he can get his own water ☺
6.) One thing people would be surprised to know about me is that I love sci-fi, but like the really cheesy Sharknado or Mega Croc vs Mega Shark kind of sci-fi.
7.) My hobbies right now are DIY home renos. I did a DIY of my master bathroom last year and it was so satisfying to see it change with lots of paint and hard work. Right now I am working on window flower boxes for the front of my house.
8.) My friends would describe you me as quirky and loyal.
9.) One thing I will never do again is cut my own bangs, I have done that too many times with bad results! (I will likely not stick to this)
