JLC March Rockstars

The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, to developing the potential of women and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The following women live this mission in their work in the community each day and we are extremely thankful for their hard work and dedication.

Rachel Besnoff (Finance Committee) is the liaison to CIC and in her first year of her Finance placement. She has jumped in as an eager committee member, very enthusiastic about learning Finance. Her assistance to CIC in answering all of the questions and addressing finance needs has been incredibly appreciated!

Jamie Mills (Chair – Promising Pages) is a fantastic committee chair. Recognized by her Vice Chair, Felisha Davis, Jamie has been an integral part in making sure that 2015-16 was a successful year for Promising Pages.

Gabe Workman, Ali Oakley, Elizabeth Mauney, and Katelyn Babson (Go Kids Go) have all stepped up to help with all of the Go Kids Go events this year. Their willingness to go above and beyond has made them truly stand out this year.

Siri Jones (AdaCooks!) has been a star committee member with being very efficient, diligent and forward thinking during our volunteering time.

Jenn Yoder (AdaCooks!) utilized her Spanish skills to help a client in need during the food demonstrations with Ada Jenkins.

Holden Sours (Done in a Day) is always on top of leading the team. She communicates in a clear way and makes members feel very open and excited about the projects.

Carla Clements (Circle de Luz) has been phenomenal, all while just having given birth to a little boy.

Lisa Anstey (Circle de Luz) has gone above and beyond in her commitment to working with the girls in the program!

Jamie Sanderson (Kids in the Kitchen) created some awesome baby food recipes for our event at Florence Crittenton on February 27.

Amanda Brannon and Allison Broglie (Give Kids a Smile) helped deliver supplies to the participating dental offices. Their extra effort and enthusiasm ensured that everything went smoothly.

Joanna Bess and Paris McAdoo-Thomas (Training and Development) put together the trainings that were hosted last month. These events were organized, well planned, and the speakers were amazing. These two ladies are always in attendance at committee meetings and willing to pitch in to help. Their commitment to the League and the committee never goes unnoticed.

Brittany Smith and Kristin Smith (Public Policy Institute) are all-star committee members who worked together to make the event a success!

Vonna Brown (Spring Fundraiser) is always a fantastic help and so connected. Her committee is incredibly appreciative of all that she has done this year.

Evelyn Haygood (Social Events Committee) worked so hard to plan a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day party for the March JLC Third Thursday Social.

Emily Reichs (Transfer Committee) has been helpful being both an advisor and assisting the Transfer Chair and Vice Chair with events.

Sherri Johnson, Kirsten Pittman, and Debbie Hull (Nominating Committee) are all doing an amazing job of staying in contact with their councils for all leadership concerns. They are very proactive to connect with chairs and vice chairs who have considered membership status changes and keeping their respective Council Managers updated.

Ashley Barton and Joy Patterson (Membership Advisory) have been on top of it all year long. They are doing a great job keeping track of all of our members and ensuring that all members get the best service possible!
