A League of Their Own

If success is measured not only in quantity, but in quality as well, then our first Sponsorship Open House that took place on June 16th, can be labeled a HUGE SUCCESS! With over 80 prospective members and sponsors filling the rooms of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) building, this open house event laid the groundwork for an exciting upcoming year for the JLC.

The outstanding turn-out at this first event is extremely encouraging, but we still need more hands on deck.  We need women who are passionate about the League to step up and fulfill the simple, yet highly impactful role of becoming a sponsor for the upcoming calendar year.

The role of a Sponsor is to:

  • Attend the Prospective Member meeting with the prospective member
  • Act as an advisor or mentor to the prospective member during the application process
  • Serve as a sounding board, providing encouragement to the provisional throughout the provisional process

If this is you, we would love for you to complete the Sponsorship Application – https://www.jlcharlotte.org/?nd=sponsorkit – and join us for one of the upcoming sponsorship events to be held at the JLC Headquarters Building at 1332 Maryland Avenue in Charlotte.

Let us never forget what our mission in the League is all about – to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. In order to accomplish these goals, WE NEED YOUR HELP!  If you are currently involved in the Junior League of Charlotte, then you know the impact of our efforts.  It’s time to share your great experiences within the League and invite other women to join us. If you have any questions, please contact Charlitta Roberson, Membership Development Chair (mdc@jlcharlotte.org).

“Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” James Cash Penney, Founder of JCPenney
